Interlude between Sydney and Adelaide

Deidre's mum met up with us at the Sydney airport, and joined us to wait for our flight to Adelaide, which leaves at 1:45pm. We've had a coffee, and chatted....

Oh, before we settled in the cafe, we tried to get through security to go to the main boarding area to wait the few hours for our flight, but Deidre's mum was stopped for having a pair of scissors in her bag. Much debating ensued, as Deidre and her mum were trying to get security to have pity, to let her keep the scissors, or at least to keep them there so that Deidre's mum could pick them up later. No attempt worked, and the scissors were either going to be destroyed, or we weren't to go through.

Deidre wanted me to go talk to their supervisor, but I absolutely refused. These new airport security laws have no exceptions, so it was a waste of time to even try. So after a search for the offending scissors, another check of the bag found another pair of scissors. And then during the search in the bag to find the scissors, another TWO pairs of scissors were found! Four pairs of scissors. I said that we shouldn't worry about it, we'll stay outside of the secure area as it wasn't worth her losing 4 pairs of scissors just to join for a couple hours.

Now why does a woman need four pairs of scissors in her bag? *shakes head*

My thoughts exactly! One you can understand, maybe even two. But FOUR?
